Nick is the CTO of Ezurio Ltd, a management spin-out of TDK Systems Europe Ltd, specialising in short range mobile communications products. The company, originally formed as Grey Cell Systems has been involved in developing mobile technology for the last fifteen years. It has been dedicated to turning these technologies and standards into solutions, with a record of being first to market with PCMCIA network products, GSM software and Bluetooth.

Over the last 25 years Nick has been involved in developing a diverse range of technologies, from robot vision systems to laser gyroscopes and semiconductor processing equipment. He was also responsible for a world leading range of sperm and embryo freezers which was awarded the Queen's Award for Technology. In the last 15 years he has been concentrating on working out how to make mobile data a reality by trying to bridge the gulf between the telecoms and computing industries. That has included taking an active role within standards bodies, including PCMCIA and Bluetooth.

One of Nick's beliefs is that if mobile data is to take off it has to be made simple for the user. That approach means that technology should be hidden from the customer - all that matters are the fundamental issues of interoperability and usability. It also drives an agnosticism towards technology and the belief that technology per se is irrelevant unless one can satisfy the user need. Ezurio promotes that view in a broad product range addressing retail and M2M applications, that encompasses wired and wireless products, with the latter spanning Bluetooth, ZigBee and Wireless LAN.
