Is messaging immortal?

This question was recently asked of members of the Mobile Data Association (MDA) discussion group on LinkedIn. In the context of the mobile world, messaging typically refers to Short Message Service (SMS) or text messaging and so the question was trying to gauge when SMS will cease to be important.

Mobile Data Association creates target of collaborative cross-industry event platform

25th March 2009. The Mobile Data Association (MDA) has committed to create an event platform to allow the mobile industry to forge closer working relationships with the operators.

This was the key commitment to emerge from the MDA’s recent Analyst event, which asked how the mobile market will thrive during the downturn.
