Solution: Mobile Payments - PayforIT Dialogue’s PayforIT Billing Solution for Mobile Ticketing
Mobile ticketing is the latest technology organisations are using to sell and deliver tickets for events around the globe. Mobile ticketing is rapidly growing in the music and entertainment industry in particular and Dialogue Communications is at the forefront of providing mobile billing solutions driving it forward. Dialogue and AEI Mobile spearheaded the launch of the first mobile ticketing solution using UK mobile payment initiative payforIT – a UK cross-network payment standard that allows customers to purchase goods and services through the mobile internet or web. Customers are then either billed directly to their mobile phone bill or payment is deducted from their pre-pay balance. PayforIT provides another payment option for customers, up to the value of £10, and Scala Club in London was the first to offer mobile ticketing via payforIT for its Drum & Bass Arena events. Mobile ticketing enables party-goers to purchase £10 tickets to these events via their mobile phone using payforIT, and then receive their tickets via SMS. "Mobile ticketing is a no-brainer for event organisers, a good proportion of which are already using SMS as the preferred marketing channel for events and functions," says Del Dias, managing director of AEI Mobile. "Promoters can now promote events using outbound SMS messaging, and allow their customers to complete the transaction on their mobile phones.” Research from Juniper Research estimated that over 2.6 billion mobile tickets will be delivered to just over 208 million mobile phone users by 2011.
